Reading Funder Profiles
Each funder in the Catholic Funding Guide has a detailed profile page with the information you need to evaluate whether they’re a good fit for your organization.
Navigating to a funder profile
Section titled “Navigating to a funder profile”Click any funder name in the search results to open their full profile. To return to your search, click the Back to previous search link at the top of the profile page.
You can also add a funder to a saved list directly from their profile by clicking the Add to list button next to the funder’s name.
Profile sections
Section titled “Profile sections”Funder profiles are organized into four tabs:
Summary
Section titled “Summary”The Summary tab provides an overview of the funder, including:
- Funder summary — A description of the funder and their mission
- Mission statement — The funder’s stated purpose
- Contact information — Address, website, primary contact name, phone number, and email address
Guidelines
Section titled “Guidelines”The Guidelines tab outlines how to approach the funder:
- Accepts unsolicited requests — Indicates whether the funder is open to receiving unsolicited funding requests (shown with a green checkmark for “Yes” or an orange warning icon for “No”)
- Restrictions and limitations — Any restrictions on who or what the funder will support
- Funding request process — How the funder prefers to receive requests
- Submission deadline — When applications are due
- Interest areas — The types of work the funder supports
- Geographic focus — The regions where the funder directs their giving
- Populations served — The groups the funder focuses on supporting
Finances
Section titled “Finances”The Finances tab displays the funder’s financial information sourced from IRS filings:
- Use the dropdown to select a specific financial year to review
- View detailed financial metrics including total assets and giving amounts
- Professional Plan subscribers can access a link to the full IRS Form 990 for deeper financial analysis
Board Members
Section titled “Board Members”The Board Members tab lists the funder’s board of directors, showing each member’s name and organizational role. If no board member information is available, you’ll see “No board members on file.”
