How to change your subscription
- Log in to the Catholic Funding Guide and navigate to your user menu in the upper right hand corner of your screen, and click "Upgrade Subscription." This will present other subscription plan options including upgrades, downgrades, or changing payment frequency such as to annually or to monthly.
- Select your new plan, and you will proceed to checkout.
- Confirm the plan you want, update any payment information (if needed), and click "Switch Subscription" to complete the changes.
Proration
When changing a subscription, your new plan is prorated relative to your current plan.
Upgrading from a Standard Plan to Professional Plan, Annual Billing
At checkout, the customer will see a "Sign Up Fee (Upgrade)" when the new plan costs more than the current plan. This is a prorated amount of the difference between what the customer has already paid for their current subscription and the incremental cost of the new subscription through the end of the existing paid up term. Then the new subscription will renew on the stated renewal date at full price.
In the example above, the customer originally signed up for a Grant Seeker's Standard Annual plan at $159/year on October 13, 2022, then chose to upgrade to a Grant Seeker's Professional Annual plan on December 5, 2022. The customer already paid $159, but the new plan is $140 more. Since part of the year has already elapsed, the customer will be charged immediately a prorated amount of $119.67 to upgrade, which is the prorated difference to switch to the Professional Plan until October 13, 2023 for this customer. At renewal, the customer above would pay $299/year starting October 2023.
Each customer's prorated amount will be different depending on their remaining subscription term and original amount paid.
Changing from an Annual Plan to a Monthly Plan
In the example below, the customer wants to change from an annual plan to a monthly plan. The customer signed up on October 13, 2022 and is looking to change to monthly on December 5, 2022. The amount paid for the annual plan exceeds the amount of the monthly plan. The customer would owe nothing to change that day, and nothing until January 22, 2023, which is when the monthly plan would renew. The day of the month changes because the prorated amounts are calculated on a per-day basis. The previous amount paid prorated to a monthly plan is applied to each monthly payment in advance, and a new auto-renewal date is calculated to process renewal payments.
Changing from Monthly to Annual
Monthly plan fees will be prorated and applied to the cost of an annual plan. For example, if a customer signs up on February 1 for a monthly plan, and on February 15th changes to an annual plan, one-half of the monthly plan amount would be applied toward the annual plan price, reducing what is owed that day to upgrade.
